The Brit awards took place Wednesday night, and host Jack Whitehall did a fair amount of audience work.

He was busy embarrassing Cheryl and Liam Payne, but the real action was in the background. Bassist and vocalist Este Haim seized the opportunity to mess around on camera.

Not everybody was aware who Haim was, identifying her as a "drunk woman."

But Haim wasn't going to be robbed of her agency quite so easily.

Haim actually gave Cheryl a ring on the morning after the awards to explain that the photobombing was not done with malicious intent, and there was no "beef" between them.

We could all learn a thing or two from Este Haim.
